Church Signatories

The "Statement of Harmony" shared by World Church Affirmation Sabbath (WCAS) with fellow-Adventists through our WCAS newsletter, Nameless Network, Fulcrum 7 and friends has begun to reap results. We are pleased to announce that the following churches have voted in favor of the "Statement of Harmony" giving affirmation to the world church of Seventh-day Adventists. One may say, "Only a few churches," but remember --- most churches have board meetings only once a month. Some churches are choosing to vote this issue in the "business session" to include the vote of all church members. And business sessions often occur only one a year. This process takes time, but we will be patient.

1 - Unnamed Church

Some churches have requested to remain "unnamed" out of concern for their pastors. WCAS respects their wishes, and will list them numerically.

Comment:

Members of the Middlesboro SDA Church in Kentucky took a vote on Sabbath after our fellowship dinner following services. Our membership lives in 3 different counties and Sabbath is the only day we have a quorum. Our pastor was also present for the vote. We explained the Statement and then took the vote. Our membership has been keeping up with the actions of the NAD and the WO issue, so it didn't require more than a few minutes.

Comment:

Thank-you so much for your willingness to do this great and necessary work. Our church is in full support of the Statement of Harmony and the decisions of the world church of Seventh-Day Adventists reached in the General Conferenced sessions as well as the fundamental beliefs of the world church. We are appalled at the false teachings and ideas that are being pushed forward in the church, particularly in the North American Division and other developed countries. We must stand for God’s Truth no matter what others may think or call us. And to Janet (Neumann) -- many of us here in Saskatchewan have satellite and we have watched you on Amazing Discoveries. When we saw that you are the WCAS chairperson we were immediately ready to support this work. Take care and God bless!

Comment:

Dear Elder Wilson,
cc to Dan Jackson, President North American Division; Ricardo Graham, President, Pacific Union Conference; Ramiro Can, President, Central California Conference

The World Church Affirmation Sabbath movement has put out a request to churches throughout the North American Division, in the form of a "Statement of Harmony," to join together in affirming that their policies, voted actions and procedures will be in accordance with Scripture and the Spirit of Prophecy, and in harmony with the working policies, voted actions, and procedures of the General Conference in Session and/or the General Conference Executive Committee.

This Statement of Harmony was adopted and approved by the church board of the Waterford, California Seventh-day Adventist Church on January 7, 2019 and a copy is enclosed. This action was taken because the leadership of the Waterford SDA Church believes it is vitally important in these divisive times to take a stand in support of the world church and its voted actions and policies.

Our prayer is that other churches throughout the NAD will likewise vote to support and affirm you and the other General Conference officers in being faithful in your duties and responsibilities, and to grant you all wisdom and discernment in every decision you make.

It is also our prayer that the leadership of the NAD, as well as the leadership of all its union conferences and local conferences, as well as local pastors, will also feel it their responsibility to come into harmony with the world church's voted policies and procedures, and turn back from their own actions that have brought disharmony and discord to God's remnant church. By voting this document, we want to be clear where we stand on these divisive issues, and that we do not support the position taken by many leaders within the NAD in opposition to the voted actions and policies of the General Conference.

Yours in the Blessed Hope.
Fred Webb, Chairman
Waterford SDA Church

Winlock Seventh-day Adventist Church (Winlock, WA )

Date of Signing: Saturday, November 17, 2018

Conference: Washington, NPUC

Division: North America

Comment:

We would like be kept posted with how many have signed the statement, and perhaps which ones so we can communicate among ourselves. This is risky business now especially for those in the UCC (and I expect it come soon to the other conferences, so the ability to give mutual support is important.)
